Rejected: Ukraine’s Unwanted Children

In Ukraine, a significant number of children are rejected by their parents and end up in orphanages or foster care. These children often come from impoverished and dysfunctional families, with the parents unable or unwilling to provide them with the love, care, and support they need. The problem is exacerbated by the country's high rate of alcoholism, poverty, and unemployment. Ukraine has one of the highest rates of child abandonment in Europe, with an estimated 100,000 children living in orphanages or foster care. Once in the system, these children often face neglect, abuse, and a lack of opportunities. The government has made some efforts to address the problem, but much more needs to be done to help these vulnerable children.
