Wilhelm Keitel - Chief of the Wehrmacht

Wilhelm Keitel, a prominent figure in Nazi Germany, served as Chief of the Wehrmacht, the unified armed forces of Nazi Germany, throughout World War II. As one of Adolf Hitler's closest advisors, he played a crucial role in planning and executing military campaigns. Keitel's unwavering loyalty to Hitler and his obedience to the Führer's commands led him to sign numerous orders and directives that resulted in atrocities against civilians and prisoners of war. His willingness to carry out Hitler's directives, regardless of their consequences, contributed to the war crimes committed by the Wehrmacht during World War II. After the war, Keitel faced trial at the Nuremberg Trials, where he was convicted of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and conspiracy to commit aggression. He was sentenced to death and executed by hanging in 1946.
