Amon Goeth - The Butcher of Płaszów

Amon Leopold Göth, known as the Butcher of Płaszów, was a high-ranking SS officer and commandant of the Płaszów concentration camp in German-occupied Poland during World War II. He was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Jews and other prisoners and was known for his cruelty and sadism. Göth was captured by American forces after the war and was tried and convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity. He was sentenced to death and hanged in 1946. His life and actions have been the subject of books, movies, and documentaries, including the Academy Award-winning film Schindler's List, in which he was portrayed by actor Ralph Fiennes.
