The Man Who Tried to Con the Royal Family

In 1910, a man named Thomas Miller attempted to deceive the British Royal Family by impersonating a member of the aristocracy. Miller, who was from humble origins, managed to convince several members of the royal household that he was the long-lost son of the late Duke of Clarence, and he was even granted an audience with King George V. However, Miller's ruse was eventually discovered, and he was charged with fraud. His trial caused a sensation in the British press and he was eventually sentenced to three years in prison.
