Double the Price & Half the Nutrients: A Fruit & Veg Monopoly

In the pursuit of convenience, pre-packaged, pre-cut, and pre-washed produce has become increasingly popular. However, this convenience often comes at a cost, both financially and nutritionally. Studies have shown that pre-cut produce, including seeds, loses up to 50% of its nutrients within a few days of being cut. Additionally, pre-packaged produce is often more expensive than its whole counterparts. For example, a bag of pre-cut celery may cost twice as much as a whole head of celery. To save money and maintain optimal nutrient intake, opt for whole produce whenever possible and wash and cut it just before consumption.
