The Fate of the Earl of Warwick, the Kingmaker

The Earl of Warwick, Richard Neville, known as the 'Kingmaker,' met his end at the Battle of Barnet in 1471, a pivotal clash in the Wars of the Roses. Warwick, who had been instrumental in deposing King Henry VI and installing Edward IV on the throne, found himself on the losing side as he rallied against Edward's return to power. During the fiercely contested battle, Warwick was unhorsed and surrounded by enemy soldiers. Despite his valiant efforts to break free, he was overwhelmed and killed, marking the downfall of one of the most powerful and influential figures in English history.
