Big Freeze

The Big Freeze is a hypothetical scenario in cosmology in which the universe will eventually reach a state of maximum entropy, leading to a state of complete disorder and the cessation of all activity. In this scenario, the universe will continue to expand forever, but the expansion will become so slow that it will eventually stop altogether. This will cause the temperature of the universe to approach absolute zero, and all matter will eventually decay into its constituent particles. The Big Freeze is one of several possible ultimate fates of the universe, and its likelihood depends on the values of certain cosmological parameters, such as the dark energy density and the cosmological constant.
