The Greenland Vikings - Land of the Midnight Sun

The Greenland Vikings, led by Erik the Red, established a thriving colony in the 10th century, despite the harsh climate and limited resources. They adapted to the unique conditions, developing innovative farming techniques, hunting strategies, and trade networks. The colony endured for several centuries, reaching a peak population of around 5,000. However, by the late 15th century, due to factors such as climate change, resource depletion, and conflicts with the indigenous Inuit people, the Norse settlements in Greenland were abandoned, leaving behind ruins and artifacts that provide a glimpse into their remarkable history and resilience in the Land of the Midnight Sun.
