William Rufus - King William Ii of England

William Rufus, also known as William II, was the second Norman king of England, ruling from 1087 until his death in 1100. He was the younger son of William the Conqueror and succeeded his elder brother, Robert Curthose, to the English throne. William Rufus was known for his red hair and fiery temper, as well as his skill as a military leader and his love of hunting. His reign was marked by conflict with his brother Robert, who claimed the English throne, and by the construction of several castles and fortifications, including the Tower of London. William Rufus died in a hunting accident in the New Forest, and was succeeded by his younger brother, Henry I.
