Jewish Life in Poland

Jewish life in Poland dates back to the 10th century, and Poland was once home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the world. Before World War II began, there were over 3 million Jews living in Poland, but the Holocaust decimated this population, and only a few thousand Jews remained after the war. In recent years, there has been a small but growing resurgence of Jewish life in Poland, and there are now an estimated 10,000 to 20,000 Jews living in the country.
