Boudicca - Queen of the Iceni

Boudicca, the indomitable Queen of the Iceni tribe, emerged as a formidable figure in British history. In 60 AD, she led a fierce rebellion against the oppressive rule of the Romans. Driven by the Romans' desecration of her territory and the rape of her daughters, Boudicca rallied her forces and laid waste to Londinium (London) and several other Roman settlements. However, despite their initial success, the Iceni were ultimately defeated in a brutal battle at Mancetter Hill, resulting in Boudicca's capture and the suppression of the rebellion. Nevertheless, her legacy as a warrior queen and a symbol of Celtic resistance endures, inspiring awe and admiration centuries after her death.
