The final king of Myanmar, Thibaw Min, endured a tragic fate after his dethronement by the British in 1885. Exiled to Ratnagiri, India, along with his family and entourage, Thibaw Min faced severe financial difficulties and struggled to maintain his royal lifestyle. Despite attempts to regain his throne, his pleas were ignored by the British authorities. In his later years, Thibaw Min suffered from various illnesses and passed away in 1916, leaving behind a legacy marked by both grandeur and despair, symbolizing the end of an era in Myanmar's history.
